Some days ago, Jenifa (Funke Akindele), now Mrs. Almaroof shook the whole city of Ayetoro with her Nikah ceremony to Alhaji Kenny Almaroof. Today, the 26th of May, 2012, she did her engagement and church wedding. One of Nigeria's most beloved actresses, Akindele has also debunked the rumour that she budgeted a princely sum of N25 million for her wedding.  If feelers are anything to go by, the whole ceremony will be concluded today and there will be no need for any event again in December, as earlier speculated. If there will be any event in December, I guess that will be a naming ceremony.

The event was held at the Haven Event Center, during which there was a Christian ceremony, led by Rev. M.O Ogunsoji while ace comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka the First thrilled the audience at the reception. The list of guests present included Ireti Osayemi, Genevieve Nnaji, eLDee, Femi Brainard and a host of other stars in Nollywood.

By virtue of her marriage to Alhaji Almaroof,  FUNKE 

AKINDELE Gets A New Name, and henceforth, she will be

referred to as Mrs. KHADIJAT OLUFUNKE AYOTUNDE 
 OLOYEDE ALMAROOF. Apart from being a popular actress, Mrs. Oloyede is also an ambassador of Glo Telecommunications while her husband, Alhaji Oloyede (aka Kenny Doo) is a businessman, politician and philanthropist. He is also the son of the Iyalaje of Oshodi and a staunch Muslim. Marriages between people of different faiths is quite common in southwestern part of Nigeria, and this is a very celebrated example. 

On behalf of Iyaniwura's Blog and our numerous readers all over the globe, we wish Jenifa a happy married life! Full of fun, excitement and happiness. 

Just for the ladies: The wedding gown was designed by Mai Atafo while the wedding itself was planned by Victoria F. Food and other catering services was handled by Biskat with Bonix supplying the drinks. Oh Lala was on hand with their superb ice creams for everyone. Shola Creative Foto handled the photography. Note that when you it is your own time ;)
