UNILAG (MAUL) Students Protest

UNILAG (MAUL) STUDENTS PROTEST

See more pictures below

Almost immediately after President Goodluck Jonathan

announced the renaming of the prestigious University of

Lagos as MOSHOOD ABIOLA UNIVERSITY, LAGOS

(MAUL),

a wave of anger and discontent swept through the campus.

Students trooped out of their hostels in large numbers

chanting protest songs. Entry and exit to the school were

blocked while free flow of vehicles along the University Road

and the St. Finbarrs' College Road was disrupted.

They marched all the way from the Yaba College of

Technology to Sabo, Yaba and the dangerously busy Herbert

Macaulay Way. Anti-Jonathan songs rented the air while many

called for the name change to be reversed. They carried

placards, and some read 'Unilag can't be called MAU' and

'Reverse or resign now'. WHAT DO YOU THINK?
