What Do You Really Think?

What Do You Really Think?

Well, we are still grieving and trying to still come to terms to the DANA plane crash which killed over 150 people. One of the most tragic stories is that of Maimuna Anyene who died alongside her four kids, husband, mother and other relatives. She was in Nigeria to attend the wedding of her brother, NDAKO MIJINDADI, and that was the first time her kids would be coming to Nigeria.

However, the brother went ahead with the wedding yesterday (June 9th) despite the fact that nine members of the family perished in the crash, and they all came for the wedding and crashed while heading to Lagos for the wedding. He married his hearthrob, Halima at The Incubator on Victoria Island, Lagos less than seven days after the plane crash.

Ndako Mijindadi and his bride, Halima

  According to the invitation:

“Please join us on Saturday, 9th June as we hold

prayers for our family members who have been

called back to God. The prayers would hold at the

Incubator (near Four Points) Victoria Island, Lagos

at 9am. The Fatiha for Halima and Ndako would

hold by 11am at Number 10, Mayaki Usman Street,

off Wole Ariyo Street, Lekki Phase 1 (re-freshments

would be at the Incubator afterwards). May God

reward you for your love and support. Thank you”.

The late Maimuna (shown in the picture) is the daughter of

Professor Ndanusa Mijindadi of the Ahmadu Bello

University. She was an old student of the Queen College,

Yaba, Lagos and later studied economics at the University of

Ibadan where she finished with a 2.1

She married a Christian lawyer, Onyeka Anyene despite

being a Muslim herself. She had four children: Kamsi (2

years), Kayna and Kayne (1-year-old twins) and Noah who

was just aged seven months as at the time of the plane crash.

She is yet to be buried.

Yes, that's Maimuna and her loved ones. They all died in the DANA plane crash.

The Couple: What do you really think?
Here is Maimuna Ayene's last message on Facebook:

GUY IS RIGHT WITH HIS DECISION. WHAT WOULD YOU

DO IF IT WERE YOU? SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH US.

  2. ultimately, we are all deadmen, we mortals are but shadows and dust. Now, carrying on with the wedding might Reek of oddity but be candid what difference did it Make. It will take years not months or weeks to get over something of this magnitude, no closure will come from the burial. The young man might be afraid that if he postpones the wedding what if there is another fresh set Of casualties on the newly appointed day? He's reasoning might have been well, the guests are here now, let's get it over with then I will make my peace with the deceased and with God, to the ordinary eye, it might appear insensitive and cold but on closer reconsideration, you will find that there is more to it than meets the eye, you of all people should know this
