PSquare Speaks Of Their Late Mom

The sensational musical duo of P-Square (Peter and Paul Okoye) are some of the biggest acts in the African music industry. However, the family and millions of fans across the globe are yet to get over the death of P-Square's mother, the late Madam Josephine Okoye (popularly known as Mama P-Square). She was a mother of four boys: Jude, Tony, Peter and Paul. Hear Jude, who takes care of all the siblings and directs their acts:

“She was our pillar of support, role model, comforter and close confidant. We will be missing her timely counsel, encouragement and most especially her powerful prayers,” says Jude, the group’s all-round caretaker and video director.

And as for Peter:
“She supported us morally, spiritually and financially too. I remember when we decided to make a career out of music, she was the only one that believed in us. She used to ferry us out at night to attend shows without the consent of our father, who insisted that we must quit music to face our education.”

The late Madam Okoye died in Kolkata, India at the age of 61 exactly five hours after a heart surgery and before her death was a church minister and also owned one of the best bakeries with her husband in Jos.
When interviewed for the last time, she says of her children:

“God gave me and my husband the best children any parent would ask for. And we are proud of each and every one of them. There is no exception. Each is unique in a way. They are my pride and joy every of my waking moments.”
She was from Ifite-Dunu in Anambra State, same with her husband. She is survived by her husband, Moses, and four other children: Henry, Lilian, Mary and Ifeanyi. IYANIWURA prays that may her gentle soul rest in peace.

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.
IYANIWURA.
