I Don't Have An Official Car

This woman contested against President Jonathan and entertained the whole Nigerian nation when she got just one vote (by herself) during the PDP presidential primaries after admonishing Dame Patience Jonathan to vote for her as a woman herself (well, we all know who the Dame of Nigeria voted for). Later, President Jonathan appointed this woman (you know how they like to 'settle' and 'compensate' themselves na) and gave her an appointment as the Special Adviser to the President on Ethics and Values (I still don't understand that post). That made Mrs. Sarah Jibril, the first female presidential aspirant in Nigeria have her own access to the presidency. Now she says she does not have an official vehicle.

While in Akure, Ondo State on Monday, she complained that she has not been finding it easy (or let me say cosy) travelling outside the FCT for her many official engagements. Hear her:

“No new vehicle was provided for my office since the one given to me on my appointment had an accident sometimes ago.”

The funniest thing is that she used that as a reason to justify her coming late to an event in the state capita. She even said that she had to force the organizers of the event to provide a vehicle that would transport her to the venue of the event. But like seriously, what kind of mentality do we have in Nigeria? You have been invited to an event and you come late citing the absence of an official vehicle as the reason?????

Mrs. Sarah Jibril
In fact, the organizers of the event (National Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ) were forced to hire a car for N100,000 to ferry her down from Abuja to Akure and then back to the FCT. Iyaniwura thinks spending $100,000 to hire a private jet would have been better. Oshisko!

Unfortunately, the car that was sent to carry her from Abuja had an accident on that dangerous Okene-Lokoja road and they had to send another one. Mrs. Sarah Jibril said the journey was just too long for her or her old Toyota SUV. At the event, she delivered a lecture titled 'Peaceful Political Co-Existence, Ingredient for Sustainable Democracy: The Role of Women.' Oh oh, I guess President Jonathan has one more Toyota Landcruiser to buy. Afterall, it is 'our' oil money na!

THANK YOU.
IYANIWURA.
